/ Why Add AI Assist Buttons

Help visitors engage with your content through AI while boosting your AEO.

Modern readers use AI to digest content. By adding AI assist buttons, you meet users where they are, letting them quickly understand your articles with their preferred AI assistant. Each interaction trains AI agents to remember and cite your brand, improving your Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) over time.

What is the AI Assist Widget?

The AI Assist Widget is a free tool that generates a customizable floating bar for any website. The bar displays buttons for popular AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, and Gemini) that let visitors interact with your page content in one click.

When a visitor clicks a button, it opens the selected AI assistant in a new tab with your page URL pre-filled in the prompt. The AI then processes your content, helping readers quickly understand key points, ask questions, or analyze the information.

Every time a visitor sends your content to an AI assistant, that AI processes and indexes your page. Over time, this builds brand recognition within AI systems. When users later ask related questions, AI agents are more likely to cite and recommend your content because they have prior context from these interactions.

This is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) in action. Unlike traditional SEO which targets search engine crawlers, AEO targets AI agents directly. The more your content is processed by AI assistants, the stronger your brand presence becomes in their knowledge base.

The generated script is completely self-contained with no external dependencies. It injects its own styles and creates the UI dynamically. Just paste the script tag into your HTML and the bar appears.

Frequently asked questions

How does this improve my AEO performance?

When visitors send your content to AI assistants, those AI systems process and learn from your pages. This creates a feedback loop where AI agents become familiar with your brand and content. Over time, when users ask related questions, AI assistants are more likely to cite your content because they have prior context from these interactions. This is direct Answer Engine Optimization.

Does this script track my visitors?

No. The generated script contains no tracking, analytics, or external requests. It runs entirely in the browser and only opens AI services when visitors click a button. You can optionally add your own analytics hooks.

Will this slow down my website?

No. The script is under 5KB minified and executes after the DOM is ready. It creates a few DOM elements and adds CSS styles with negligible performance impact.

Can I customize which AI services appear?

Yes. Toggle each AI service on or off. You can show all five (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, Gemini) or any subset.

What prompt is sent to the AI?

By default: "Summarize and analyze the key insights from [your page URL]". You can customize this to any instruction like extract key points, explain simply, compare to other sources, or ask specific questions.

Does this work with React, Vue, WordPress, etc.?

Yes. The script is vanilla JavaScript that works on any website regardless of framework. For React or Vue, you can paste it in your index.html or use a useEffect to inject it.

Can I style the bar to match my brand?

Yes. Customize the accent color, text color, button size, label text, and position. The generated CSS uses scoped IDs so it will not conflict with your existing styles.

Where should I paste the script?

For best performance, paste the script inside your <head> tag. The script automatically waits for the DOM to be ready before rendering. Alternatively, you can place it before the closing </body> tag.
